Volleyball Recap: Hurricane Tigers vs. Desert Hills Thunder
Hurricane was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to the Desert Hills Thunder, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunder apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Hurricane started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-17, 25-12, 25-18.
Carter Wardle paced Hurricane's offense, picking up four kills. Wardle got some help from Bridger Eves and his 11 assists. Finally, Eves was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
Desert Hills can attribute much of their success to Kai James, who had 14 digs and five assists. That's the most assists James has posted since March 5th.
Hurricane's record now sits at 4-8. As for Desert Hills, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 9-6.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Hurricane is set to take on their familiar foe Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Desert Hills will face off against rival Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
