After a string of five wins, Newton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southeast Lauderdale Tigers. The game marked Newton's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Southeast Lauderdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Bay Springs the next time they take the court. Southeast Lauderdale will host Bay Springs on Friday, while Newton will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
