Football Game Recap: Hickory Hawks vs. SouthLake Christian Academy

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between SouthLake Christian Academy and Hickory Hawks. SouthLake Christian Academy put the hurt on Hickory Hawks with a sharp 35-12 victory. The rankings were on SouthLake Christian Academy's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.

SouthLake Christian Academy started the contest off right with 21 first-half points. Hickory Hawks countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 21-6 going into the half. The other side of the ball was dominant for SouthLake Christian Academy in the second half, holding Hickory Hawks to a measly 6 points.

Senior Braeden Mccarthy, who passed for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in SouthLake Christian Academy's success. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Luke Binkley, who racked up 13 tackles.

The win bumped SouthLake Christian Academy's record up to 5-4. Hickory Hawks' loss makes it six in a row and drags their record down to 1-8.

SouthLake Christian Academy will square off against Concord First Assembly Academy at 7:00 PM next week. Unlike SouthLake Christian Academy, Concord First Assembly Academy will be limping in after taking a loss. As for Hickory Hawks, they will go up against Victory Christian Center. Both of those teams have had a rocky road up to this point with six consecutive losses for Hickory Hawks and eight for Victory Christian Center.
