Volleyball Recap: Start Takes a Loss

Start was the 2-1 winner over Anthony Wayne when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals on Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-21, 17-25, 25-16.

Kaden Baker paced Start's offense, picking up 25 kills. Baker got some help from Jaden Brunt and his 23 assists. Brunt was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Start now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Anthony Wayne, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4.

Coincidentally, Start and Anthony Wayne will both be playing Springfield the next time they take the court. The Spartans will host the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Generals will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
