Carlsbad has gone 9-1 against Roswell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls will take on the Roswell Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Carlsbad is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Clovis, who was ranked eighth at the time (Carlsbad was ranked 15th). Carlsbad was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 35-34 to Clovis.

Meanwhile, Roswell played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 85-39 loss at the hands of Hobbs. The Coyotes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-17.

Roswell has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Carlsbad, they dropped their record down to 15-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Carlsbad beat Roswell 42-35 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Carlsbad repeat their success, or does Roswell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
