Baseball Game Preview: Mentor Cardinals vs. Medina Battling Bees

For the second straight game, Mentor will face off against Medina. The Cardinals will venture away from home to square off against the Battling Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mentor 3.2, Medina 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Mentor is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Medina just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 8-2 to the Battling Bees.

Brayden Bortnick was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Medina has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mentor, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 13-3.
