Baseball Recap: Desert View Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

Desert View took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Buena, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jaguars skirted past the Colts 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since March 1st.

Orlando Pinedo was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Jorge Zazueta was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Mark Hollonbeck was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Desert View is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Buena, with the defeat, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-6.
