Basketball Game Preview: Hanover Hawks vs. Louisa County Lions

The Hanover Hawks will head out to square off against the Louisa County Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hanover's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.

Last Saturday, Hanover came up short against New Kent and fell 74-61. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Trojans are ranked 22nd).

Meanwhile, Louisa County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 62-43 to Fauquier.

Louisa County's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Hanover, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Hanover against Louisa County in their previous meeting on December 5th, as the squad secured an 81-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hanover since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
