Softball Game Preview: Prestonsburg Blackcats vs. Floyd Central Jaguars

For the second straight game, Prestonsburg will face off against Floyd Central. The Blackcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Prestonsburg knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Floyd Central likes a good challenge.

Prestonsburg will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Floyd Central, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Blackcats came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 10-7 on Monday.

Candace Allen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Liv Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Prestonsburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in seven consecutive games.

Prestonsburg's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Floyd Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
