Softball Recap: Loretto Mustangs vs. Community Vikings/Viqueens        
        
		
            
 If Loretto was feeling good  off their  8-1 takedown of Mt. Pleasant last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Loretto Mustangs took  a  6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Community Vikings/Viqueens on Monday. Loretto was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Community apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in May of 2022.
 For Community's part,  Annie Prince tossed a big game,   pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. Prince has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Kailani Allen, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.  Carlie Blanton was another key contributor,  going 1-for-3 with three  RBI and a  double.
 Loretto's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Community, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 13 games,  which provided a massive bump to their 20-11 record  this season.
 Loretto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Community, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Summertown on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Community comes in on four and Summertown on five.
