Soccer Game Preview: Fort Lauderdale vs. Monarch

The Fort Lauderdale Flying L will face off against the Monarch Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Lauderdale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Fort Lauderdale is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Cypress Bay just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Thursday. They came up short against the Lightning, falling 5-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Flying L's were already down 4-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Ivan Pontorno, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Monarch had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let Coral Springs onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Thursday.

Fort Lauderdale's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4-1. As for Monarch, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11-3.
