Soccer Recap: East Wake Academy Comes Up Short

East Wake Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wake Prep Academy Guardians. One thing that didn't help East Wake Academy's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Ella Cooper.

Kelann Hawkins and Leila Gonzalez scored all three of East Wake Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

East Wake Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Wake Prep Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-4-1.

East Wake Academy has already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against Franklin Academy on the 16th. As for Wake Prep Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Raleigh Charter on the 16th.
