Baseball Game Preview: Marine City Mariners vs. L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders

The Marine City Mariners will take on the L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Marine City's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so L'Anse Creuse North's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Marine City is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Fraser just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 7-3 to the Ramblers.

L'Anse Creuse North came out on top against Armada on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Tigers 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

L'Anse Creuse North got a great performance from Jaxon Brincheck as he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, Brincheck posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four matches.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke Mette, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Koston Blaskowski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

L'Anse Creuse North's win bumped their record up to 14-18. As for Marine City, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.
