Softball Recap: Pleasant Ridge Wins Going Away Against Atchison County

Pleasant Ridge's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Atchison County Tigers as they made off with a 20-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Gabby Major was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Izzy Bryan was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Pleasant Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atchison County only posted a batting average of .231.

Pleasant Ridge moved to 5-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Atchison County, they dropped their record down to 0-16 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pleasant Ridge beat the Tigers by a score of 15-6 later that day.
