Softball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mt. Pleasant Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Mavericks have lost by just one run.

Marshall saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karleigh Robinson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Marshall now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Mt. Pleasant, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Marshall and Mt. Pleasant will both be playing Jacksonville the next time they take the field. Mt. Pleasant will head out to face Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Marshall will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
