Softball Recap: Madison's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Madison didn't have quite enough to beat Monroe on Saturday and fell 6-5. The contest marked Madison's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jazlyn Zaszczurynski made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Zaszczurynski is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kalexiana Wrest was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Madison fell to 4-1. As for Monroe, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Madison will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Hillsdale at 4:00 p.m. As for Monroe, they will head out on the road to challenge Pioneer at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans are facing the Pioneers at the right time seeing as the Pioneers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
