Volleyball Recap: Clemens Comes Up Short on the Road Against Bowie

Clemens had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bowie Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Clemens started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-20, 25-18, 27-25.

McKenna Gobin paced Clemens' offense, picking up 15 kills. Gobin got some help from Emily Corkill and her 25 assists. Corkill was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

The win got Bowie back to even at 1-1.

Clemens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Liberty Hill on the 12th. As for Bowie, they will welcome Bastrop at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
