Basketball Recap: Grand County Red Devils vs. San Juan Broncos

Grand County lost against San Juan back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Grand County Red Devils took a 67-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Juan Broncos.

Loss or not, Grand County got some senior leadership from Trace York and JT Dowd. York dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Dowd went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points. What's more, Dowd also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Colin McFarland, who posted five points.

San Juan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tripp Palmer out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. Palmer has become a key player for San Juan: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 5-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Ivins, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 11 boards, and nine assists.

Grand County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for San Juan, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
