Basketball Recap: Mt. Gilead Takes a Loss

If Mt. Gilead was feeling good fresh off their 68-44 takedown of Danville last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mt. Gilead Indians fell 48-40 to the Northmor Golden Knights on Friday. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Golden Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northmor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jax Wenger, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wenger has scored at least a third of Northmor's points. Another player making a difference was Trevor Brubaker, who posted 12 points and six boards.

Mt. Gilead now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Northmor, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Mt. Gilead will head out to square off against Centerburg at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northmor, they will host Galion at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Northmor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season.
