Soccer Game Preview: Travelers Rest vs. Daniel

The Travelers Rest Devildogs will head out on the road to face off against the Daniel Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Travelers Rest has given up an average of 3 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Travelers Rest managed to slip by Greer the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Travelers Rest came up short against Greer two weeks ago, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, Daniel had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Bulldogs an 8-0 shutout. Considering Daniel have won four games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Berea from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Jaden Fleming led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Travelers Rest's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Daniel, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2-1.

Everything went Travelers Rest's way against Daniel when the teams last played back in March of 2023, as Travelers Rest made off with a 6-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Travelers Rest since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
