Science Hill had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 71-66 W against the Sevier County Smoky Bears. For the Hilltoppers, this counts as revenge for the 50-40 victory the Smoky Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Science Hill's win bumped their record up to 26-6. As for Sevier County, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-7.

Coming up, Science Hill will take on Maryville on Monday. One thing working in Science Hill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches. As for Sevier County, they will face off against Oak Ridge on Monday. Oak Ridge will roll in looking for their 19th straight victory, something Sevier County surely won't give up without a fight.
