Football Recap: Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy Has No Trouble Against Capitol

Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 20-0). They blew past the Capitol Lions 38-18. This was payback for Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy, who suffered a 36-26 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kenny Jones had a dynamite game, rushing for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also catching one score. Another player making a difference was Christopher Mckinley, who rushed for 89 yards and one TD.

Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Capitol, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy will take on Port Allen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Capitol, they will head out to square off against Slaughter Community Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
