Recap: Covenant Eagles vs. Grace Christian

If the Covenant Eagles were feeling good off their 60-37 takedown of Varsity Opponent last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Covenant lost to Grace Christian on the road by a decisive 56-39 margin on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Covenant of the 70-55 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Grace Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jonathen Holderby led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. David Wiebe was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.

Covenant's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Grace Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rose Hill Christian at 10:00 a.m. on February 24th. As for Grace Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tolsia at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. The timing is sure in Tolsia's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Grace Christian has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
