Softball Game Preview: Anson Bearcats vs. Central Eagles

The Anson Bearcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Central Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Anson and three for Central.

Anson lost 20-4 to Parkwood on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Central came up short against Chesterfield on Tuesday, falling 15-2.

Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johniyah Hough, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Jasmine McMillan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Anson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Anson's way against Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Anson made off with a 13-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
