Baseball Recap: Perrin-Whitt Falls to Alvord in First Game of Season

Perrin-Whitt unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 16-3 to the Alvord Bulldogs on Tuesday. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 12-3 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Perrin-Whitt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Keeney, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Alvord has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Perrin-Whitt will be playing in front of their home fans against Lipan at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lipan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. Alvord will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bryson at 5:00 p.m. on March 21st.
