Basketball Game Preview: Sacred Heart Tigers vs. Bethesda Christian Lions

Sacred Heart and Bethesda Christian are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Sacred Heart Tigers challenge the Bethesda Christian Lions at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bethesda Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sacred Heart, who comes in off a win.

Sacred Heart took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 30-29 win over Mercy Culture Prep.

Meanwhile, Bethesda Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 53-33 to Victory Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1403rd, while the Patriots are ranked 587th).

Bethesda Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Sacred Heart, they pushed their record up to 9-13 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Sacred Heart took their win against Bethesda Christian in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 43-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sacred Heart since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
