Basketball Game Preview: Chenango Valley Warriors vs. Chenango Forks Blue Devils

Chenango Valley and Chenango Forks are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Chenango Valley Warriors will host the Chenango Forks Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Chenango Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Chenango Valley is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since February 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Seton Catholic Central, falling 82-56. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Saints: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Chenango Forks beat Waverly 44-38 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Chenango Forks' win came from a few key players Chenango Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sam Paske, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Vaseleck, who posted seven points along with five assists and three blocks.

Chenango Forks smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Chenango Forks has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season. As for Chenango Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Chenango Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Chenango Forks in their previous meeting back in January, winning 56-45. Will Chenango Valley repeat their success, or does Chenango Forks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
