Softball Recap: Hillsboro Hiltoppers vs. Greenville Comets
Hillsboro lost against Greenville back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hillsboro Hiltoppers took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenville Comets.
Briley Kirby was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Evans, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
On Greenville's side, Haylee Clark was incredible, going 4-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a double. Another player making a difference was Emma Bingham, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Hillsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Greenville, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Hillsboro will head out on the road to face off against Staunton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Litchfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
