Softball Recap: Powdersville Patriots vs. Pendleton Bulldogs

After losing to Pendleton the last time they met, Powdersville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Powdersville Patriots walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Pendleton Bulldogs on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Bree Woods was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellison Wood, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Woods wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Powdersville lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. Powdersville is a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Powdersville's record now sits at 3-5. As for Pendleton, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powdersville will venture away from home to square off against Southside Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Southside Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Powdersville surely won't give up without a fight. Pendleton will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crescent at 6:00 p.m. on April 8th.
