Baseball Recap: Italy Triumphs

Italy won the last time they faced Rice and things went their way on Saturday too. The Gladiators came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 11-9.

The team relied heavily on Tripp Slovak, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Lennon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Italy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Rice, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5-1.

Coming up, Italy will square off against Covington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rice, they will take on Azle Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
