Softball Game Preview: Pine Crest Panthers vs. Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves

The Pine Crest Panthers will take on the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves in a tournament on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Two weeks ago, Pine Crest came up short against Coral Shores and fell 25-22.

Gabby Luong and Elle Geiger did some serious damage despite the final result: Luong scored five runs and stole 12 bases. while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances, while Geiger scored three runs and stole Ten bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those five runs gave Luong a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Farber, who scored three runs and stole Seven bases. while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Oxbridge Academy was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Park Vista.

Riley Frauntfelter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Ila Trueblood was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Oxbridge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Pine Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Pine Crest might still be hurting after the 16-7 defeat they got from Oxbridge Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Pine Crest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
