Baseball Recap: Lowell Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Lowell's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Sparta Spartans on Monday. The Red Arrows were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Caden Witten was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Lowell's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7-1. As for Sparta, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-6 record this season.

While Lowell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
