Basketball Recap: Kankakee Takes a Loss

Kankakee suffered their biggest loss since February 20th on Saturday. They lost 62-41 to the Phillips Wildcats. The Kays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Phillips got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamaria Sephus out in front who went 5 of 7 on her way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nakiyah Williams, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Kankakee's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Phillips, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Kankakee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-55 victory against Bloom on the 9th. Phillips has also already played their next game, a 45-34 win against Montini Catholic on the 8th.
