Basketball Recap: Sitka Takes Down Ranked Mt. Edgecumbe

On Friday, Sitka faced Mt. Edgecumbe in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Sitka Wolves secured a 71-66 W over the Mt. Edgecumbe Braves. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the 61-55 victory the Braves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Sitka's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points over those games. As for Mt. Edgecumbe, their loss ended a 17-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-3.

Sitka will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mt. Edgecumbe on February 18th. As for Mt.
