Basketball Recap: Forney Takes a Loss

Forney was the 86-77 winner over North Forney when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Forney Jackrabbits fell just short of the North Forney Falcons by a score of 56-53 on Friday. The Jackrabbits just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Leading North Forney to victory were Taeshaun Benson and Zach Thompson. Benson went 7 for 15 on his way to 20 points, while Thompson went 5 of 10 to rack up 13 points. Thompson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcus Page Jr., who posted four points.

Forney's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for North Forney, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 13-20.

Looking ahead, Forney will be playing in front of their home fans against Royse City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Forney, they will venture away from home to take on Tyler Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tyler Legacy will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something North Forney surely won't give up without a fight.
