            Baseball Preview: Community Christian Cyclones vs. Beddingfield Bruins        
        
		
        
        
            The Community Christian Cyclones will venture away from home to  face off against the Beddingfield Bruins  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Community Christian will be strutting in after a  win while Beddingfield will be coming in after a  defeat.
Community Christian will roll into the  matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one  run  last Monday, then bounced right back against Gramercy Christian  last Tuesday. The Cyclones never let the Warriors get on the board and left with  a   13-0  victory. The result was nothing new for the Cyclones, who have now won six contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.

 Tyler Spivey was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those  11  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and two  runs. He is becoming a predictor of Community Christian's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is 5-2 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
 In other batting news,  Jack Beamon was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. He has become a key player for Community Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 3-6 otherwise.  Luke Holloman also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
 Meanwhile, Beddingfield came up short against  North East Carolina Prep on Wednesday, falling  8-1. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Community Christian is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Beddingfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
 Community Christian beat Beddingfield 14-11  in their previous matchup  on April 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cyclones since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
