Basketball Recap: Fallston Comes Up Short

Fallston won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They were beaten by the Joppatowne Mariners 69-35. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-24.

Despite the defeat, Fallston had strong showings from Oliver Rueckert, who posted ten points, and John Wirth, who scored nine points.

Joppatowne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Council, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kishann Smith, who put up 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Fallston now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Joppatowne, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Fallston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-44 victory against Bohemia Manor on the 9th. As for Joppatowne, they will venture away from home to square off against Kenwood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Joppatowne knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Kenwood likes a good challenge.
