Basketball Recap: Riverside Makes It 14 in a Row at Home

Riverside had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 29-point drubbing they dealt Lightridge on Tuesday. The Riverside Ram took their matchup with ease, bagging an 87-58 win over the Lightridge Bolts. The Ram have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.

Riverside was led to victory by Mason Ridgeway and Max Lawson. Ridgeway went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 37 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Lawson went 8 for 10 on his way to 22 points along with five assists and five boards. That's the most points Lawson has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Ntiamoah, who posted six points.

Riverside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Riverside pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lightridge, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside will square off against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Independence likes a good challenge. Lightridge has already played their next game (against Briar Woods), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
