After a string of six wins, Spring-Ford's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 20-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Downingtown East Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-17 back in September.

When it comes to explaining why Spring-Ford lost, don't look at Brayden Hinkle. Despite the final result, he rushed for 138 yards and one TD. Hinkle has become a key player for the Rams: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 1-4 otherwise.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All came from Ryan Reavy: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points and added another on an extra point kick.

Spring-Ford's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Downingtown East, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Spring-Ford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Downingtown East, they will square off against Pennridge at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Rams' defense has only allowed 13.4 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
