Softball Recap: Corydon Central Gets the Win

Corydon Central won the last time they faced Heritage Hills and things went their way on Saturday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Ava Gerdon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Corydon Central's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Paisley Teeter, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run was Teeter's first of the season.

The win got Corydon Central back to even at 3-3. As for Heritage Hills, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corydon Central will challenge North Harrison at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Heritage Hills, they will host Evansville Mater Dei at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
