Softball Recap: Tolleson's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Tolleson waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Valley Vista Monsoon get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Monsoon, too.

Tolleson let Trinity Preciado and Sammie Ortega run wild. Preciado went 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI, while Ortega scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Preciado is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alisson Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Tolleson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tolleson's record now sits at 18-5. As for Valley Vista, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Tolleson will welcome Kofa at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Vista, they will host Westwood at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Monsoon will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
