Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Comes Up Short

Providence Classical was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks, falling 70-37. The Paladins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.

NorthPoint Christian Academy was led to victory by Gabe Spann and Chelan Chudgar. Spann went 9-for-13 en route to 27 points in addition to five assists and three steals, while Chudgar went 10-for-21 on his way to 25 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Chudgar a new career-high in shooting accuracy (48%). Micah Enriquez was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 boards and nine steals.

Providence Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Providence Classical does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, they will square off against Lee Park Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. NorthPoint Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Lee Park Prep likes a good challenge.
