Baseball Game Preview: Choctaw County Chargers vs. Choctaw Central Warriors

Choctaw County is a perfect 8-0 against Choctaw Central since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Chargers are taking a road trip to challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Choctaw County will be strutting in after a victory while Choctaw Central will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Choctaw County got the win against Calhoun City by a conclusive 8-2. Considering the Chargers have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Choctaw Central and Northeast Lauderdale had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Warriors lost 15-1 to the Trojans on Friday. The Warriors have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Choctaw County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Choctaw Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Choctaw County took their victory against Choctaw Central when the teams last played back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
