Basketball Game Preview: Perryville Pirates vs. Hillsboro Hawks

Perryville hasn't had much luck against Hillsboro recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Perryville Pirates will look to defend their home court against the Hillsboro Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Perryville is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Friday. They had to suffer through a 97-54 loss at the hands of Scott City. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Rams are ranked 88th).

Meanwhile, Hillsboro was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 58-54 to St. Charles West. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hillsboro's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Perryville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Perryville might still be hurting after the 78-54 loss they got from Hillsboro in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hillsboro's Gregory Robinson, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 19 boards.
