Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Veritas Christian Academy). They walked away with a 75-66 victory over Columbia Independent on Friday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 50-39 win Columbia Independent walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Veritas Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Niemeyer out in front who went 6 of 9 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Titus Murrell, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Veritas Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Columbia Independent, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Veritas Christian Academy will host Calvary Lutheran at 3:30 p.m. on December 30th. As for Columbia Independent, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Missouri Military Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
