Valley Union had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They won by a set and slipped past the Lourdes Catholic Warriors 3-2. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Lourdes Catholic dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Valley Union will face off against San Manuel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lourdes Catholic, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on The Gregory School at 5:00 p.m. on September 12.
