Mountain Vista won the last time they faced Cherokee Trail, and Ariana Akey did her part to make sure it happened again. The Golden Eagles took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 40-0 win over the Cougars for which the team can thank Akey, who threw for 153 yards and four TDs while completing 91.7% of her passes, and also rushed for 57 yards and one score. Akey is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least three every time she's taken the field this season.

Mountain Vista's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Cherokee Trail, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Mountain Vista will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cherokee Trail, they are taking a road trip to face off against Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season.
