Basketball Game Preview: College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals vs. Piedmont Classical Bobcats

College Prep & Leadership Academy is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Phoenix Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that College Prep & Leadership Academy blew Phoenix Academy out of the water with an 82-35 final score. Meanwhile, Piedmont Classical suffered their closest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Winston-Salem Prep by a score of 54-52. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Phoenix are ranked 130th).

College Prep & Leadership Academy's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42 points. As for Piedmont Classical, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

College Prep & Leadership Academy strolled past Piedmont Classical in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 72-55. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Piedmont Classical's Bryson Motley, who went 7 for 10 en route to 19 points and seven steals.
