Basketball Recap: Maywood/Hayes Center Takes a Loss

Maywood/Hayes Center has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 49-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sandhills/Thedford Knights on Friday. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Maywood/Hayes Center still got an impressive performance from Jaxson Anders, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Grady Erickson, who posted eight points.

Maywood/Hayes Center's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Sandhills/Thedford, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Maywood/Hayes Center will take on Bertrand at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they will welcome Sandhills Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
