Softball Recap: Cerro Gordo/Bement Comes Up Short

Cerro Gordo/Bement was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 13-3 to the Neoga Indians.

Cerro Gordo/Bement saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Gant, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Cerro Gordo/Bement's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Neoga, their record now sits at 3-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cerro Gordo/Bement will square off against Villa Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Neoga, they will take on Oblong at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
